As a first-generation Peruvian immigrant with Peruvian and Japanese roots, I understand how culture, family, identity, and the expectations we carry can shape the way we experience the world. My own background has deeply influenced the way I approach therapy and my commitment to creating a space that feels welcoming, collaborative, and approachable.

I work with adults navigating a number of different topics such as: anxiety, depression, stress, grief, perinatal/post-partum challenges, transition into parenthood, relationship challenges, self-esteem, and the feeling of being stuck or disconnected from themselves.

My approach to therapy is integrative and tailored to you. I draw from evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy while also incorporating mindfulness, reflection, acceptance, and mind-body awareness when they feel helpful. I see therapy as a relationship first, and by building this relationship we make room to engage in impactful work. I’ll offer support and compassion, but I’ll also encourage you to look at patterns, challenge beliefs that may no longer serve you, and take meaningful steps toward understanding your true self.

My mission is to create a therapeutic environment rooted in compassion and cultural awareness.

The name Sakura is deeply meaningful to me, both personally and as a therapist. The cherry blossom speaks to renewal, and to the importance of being present for the moment you are in. The dog in this photo is my little Saki, named for that same flower — and the inspiration behind the name.
